Stand out like a flamingo in a flock of pigeons

What is the thing that makes your business stand out like a flamingo in a flock of pigeons? Yes, you guessed it right – it's your brand!

A brand is like a fingerprint, unique and identifiable. And just like your fingerprints, your brand is what sets you apart from the crowd. Without a unique brand, you're just another face in the sea of competition. And nobody wants to be a boring old seagull, am I right? (I know some people LOVE seagulls but you get the point right?!)

So, how do you create a unique brand that stands out? First, let's take a look at some examples of unique brands that we all know:

  • Apple: Sleek, minimalist, and sophisticated.

  • Coca-Cola: Classic, timeless, and universally loved.

  • Nike: Sporty, adventurous, and motivating.

I’m not saying that you will be able to get the recognition Apple has just through branding but they are easy examples to give as we ALL know about the above companies.

See what I mean? These brands are like fingerprints – once you see them, you know exactly who they belong to. And just like fingerprints, your brand needs to be unique and identifiable. You can't be a copycat or a wannabe – you have to be yourself and embrace your quirks and unique qualities.

So how do you make your brand stand out? Well, it all depends on what industry you are in. Does your competitors all look like flamingos well then maybe you should consider bringing a bit of pigeon into the mix. On the other hand, if your competitors are all beige/grey/brown pigeons then why not go all in on the flamingo style?

Ok, that’s a lot of bird analogy which is slightly strange as I’m now really a bird lover (not a hater either) just indifferent I guess 😄

To sum up my slightly strange explanation of why a brand should be like a fingerprint – unique and identifiable. Embrace your quirks (apparently mine is bird analogy) and unique qualities, and don't be afraid to stand out. Because let's face it, nobody wants to be a pigeon in a sea of pigeons!
